ANGOLA, Ind. -- New renderings of Thunder Ice Arena are now available for viewing online.

Construction on the $7.2 million, 1,000 seat Thunder Ice Arena will begin this summer. The arena, which will be located on U.S. 20, will include an NCAA-compliant ice rink, men's and women's locker rooms, concessions, a pro shop with wearables, sticks and skates for sale and a VIP lounge.

The Thunder Ice Arena project, along with the proposed athletic and recreation MTI Center recently received a $2.8 million funding grant from the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority. More information on the RDA funding can be found HERE.

Thunder Ice Arena will house both of Trine's NCAA Division III hockey programs, set to begin play in 2017-18. The arena will also serve as the home for Trine's recently-announced ACHA Division II Men's Ice Hockey program.
