Trine Distance Medley Relay Teams Named MIAA Runners of the Week

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's and women's indoor track distance medley relay teams have been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Runners of the Week."

Both teams competed at the unscored Wide Track Classic hosted by Hillsdale (Mich.) College this past weekend.

On the men's side, junior Derek Miller (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview), freshman Jake Gladieux (Oregon, Ohio/Whitmer), junior Levi Neuzerling (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) and junior Neil O'Brien (Whiteland, Ind./Roncalli) placed fourth in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:28.83.  The time was also a school record as well as the ninth fastest time so far in NCAA Division III and first in the MIAA.  The previous record of 10:39.83 was set in Feb 2016 by the team of Michael Becker, Robert Lewis Duke, Jordan Zamarron and Gregory Littlejohn.

For the women, Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), sophomore Stephanie Hartpence (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), sophomore Chloe Brittain (Breckenridge, Mich./Breckenridge) and junior Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) won their distance medley relay race with a time of 12:18.83.  The mark ranks as the seventh quickest in NCAA Division III.

Trine will travel to Greencastle, Ind. to compete in the DePauw University Invitational next Saturday, Feb. 15.  The first events are slated to start at 11 a.m.
