Trine Tennis Honored for Academic Success by ITA

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's and women's tennis teams were both recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as All-Academic Teams with individuals also being named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Both Thunder programs were labeled as All-Academic teams. To secure the honor a team must earn a GPA of 3.2 or higher. The women finished the year with a 3.8320 GPA while the men came in with a 3.5510 GPA, both more than enough for the award.

Individuals from both teams were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes. To earn the recognition student-athletes mush finish the academic year with a 3.5 GPA. The men had nine individuals while the women came in just behind them with eight individuals earning the honor.

For the men, freshmen Alex Mullet (Westfield, Ind. / Westfield), Mitch Rose (Plymouth, Ind. / Plymouth) and Aaron Streit (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) joined sophomores Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola), Adam Dills (Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble) and Evan Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont). Rounding out the team is junior Isaac Everitt (Scottsburg, Ind. / Scottsburg) and seniors Jordan Baker (Salem, Ind. / Salem) and Austin Balos (Niles, Mich. / Brandywine).

For the women, the lone freshman was Eva Morales (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial). Sophomores included Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble), Camille Lozier (Elkhart, Ind. / Concord) and Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern). Juniors Andrea Jordan (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven), Trista Savage (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) and Katie Simon (Paw Paw, Mich. / Paw Paw) joined senior Kyra Braun (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) to round out the honorees.
