Trine Student-Athletes Compete at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Trine University track and field program had three student-athletes compete today, May 28 at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Opening the day was sophomore Jake Gladieux (Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer) who competed in the 110-meters hurdles preliminary event. He would compete in the third heat and turn in a time of 15.15, unfortunately not good enough to advance to the finals of the event.

Later in the day senior Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Caroll) took part in the finals of the 3000-meters steeplechase where she would turn in a time of 11:43.69 finishing in 19th position.

Finally, senior Neil O'Brien (Whiteland, Ind. / Roncalli) competed in the men's 3000-meters steeplechase where he would post a time of 9:59.32 and finishing in 17th position.

Gladieux joins senior Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) and junior Valerie Obear (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) in competing in finals tomorrow, Saturday, May 29.
