Student-Athletes Representing 16 Teams Named Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), have been announced for the remainder of the 2022-23 athletic seasons. Trine University had 26 student-athletes represent the institution on their respective All-District teams.

The national champion softball team ended up with four student-athletes including senior Anna Koeppl who went on to earn first team Academic All-American® status. Joining her on the All-District level were classmate Amanda Prather, junior Lauren Clausen and sophomore Ainsley Phillips.

In the first year of recognizing the sport separately, three members of men's and women's tennis were selected All-District. Sophomore Cole Goodman and senior Aaron Streit were recognized on the men's side while senior Eva Morales was the lone woman.

Trine baseball was represented by senior Robert Kortas and junior Josh Hoogewerf.

Eight student-athletes represented the Thunder in the Track & Field / Cross Country category. On the women's side senior Brianna Medcalf was joined by juniors Carol Haldeman and Ana Parker along with sophomores Lydia Randolph and Morgan Moslow. For the men senior Greysen Spohn, junior Zachary Brickler and sophomore Evan Selby all made the grade.

The final group of student-athletes all fell into the At-Large category, which honors athletes from all of the NCAA sponsored sports that do not receive individual recognition. Junior Hunter Haas and sophomore Kevin Boncaro represented men's volleyball while senior Charlie Eriksen and junior Mark Civanich from men's golf and senior Brad Jenion of men's hockey also were recognized.

Senior Máire Sullivan and sophomore Grace Dubec were recognized from women's golf. Sophomores Brooke Hoag of women's lacrosse and Payton Hans of women's hockey rounded out the slate of honorees.
