Trine to Host Pink Tailgate

ANGOLA, Ind.-- Trine University will host a Pink Tailgate in conjunction with a pair of athletic contests Tuesday as part of the University's "Pink Week" promotion to raise awareness for breast cancer research.

The Pink Tailgate gets underway in the east parking lot at Hershey Hall at 5 p.m. Prizes will be available for the first 25 guests as well as the most-spirited pink-related costume. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness and research. Free food and drinks will be available for those in attendance.

The tailgate offers fans a chance for fun in conjunction with a pair of athletic events. The men's soccer team will host Albion in a key conference match at 4 p.m. The Thunder and Britons are each just one point back out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the MIAA.

A volleyball match follows the tailgate at 6:30 p.m. as Trine plays host to 13th-ranked Hope. The Thunder currently sit in third-place in the MIAA standings, while the Dutch are in second.

The tailgate and athletic events are part of "Pink Week," which saw the university raise funds to support Theta Phi Alpha's fundraising for breast cancer awareness and research.
