ANGOLA, Ind.-- Take a look at the upcoming schedule and a brief preview of the week ahead in Trine Thunder athletics.
Wednesday
Men's Basketball: Adrian at Trine, 7:30 p.m.
This game could prove to be big for conference seeding, as the two
teams are separated by just one game in the league standings. The
Thunder enter 6-2 and in a three-way tie for first-place in league
play. The Bulldogs are 5-3 in conference play. An Adrian would win
would give them the tiebreak in any tie with Trine in the league
standings.
Women's Basketball: Trine at Albion, 8 p.m.
Another game that could prove to be big in the conference
standings, with the two teams separated by one game. The Thunder
are 6-5 and in fourth place, while the Britons are 5-6 and in sixth
place. Trine is one of four teams separated by two games in the
race for third place in the standings. The Thunder won the first
meeting by a 78-58 final.
Friday
Track and Field: Trine at Hillsdale Wide Track Classic, 12
p.m.
Friday's docket includes 60 M preliminaries, long-distance events,
and field events including the weight throw, pole vault and long
jump. Kara Eck is coming off yet another school-record performance
in the weight throw. Andrew Bunting is 16th in the weight throw,
and John Daniel is currently 19th in the nation in the pole
vault.
Wrestling: Alma at Trine, 7 p.m.
The dual match wraps up the home slate for the Thunder in 2014-15.
Mack Green (2nd place) and Brandon Preston (4th place) are each
coming off solid performances in a stacked Pete Willson
Invitational field. The Scots are ranked 12th in the nation by the
NWCA.
Saturday
Track and Field: Trine at Hillsdale Wide Track Classic, 12
p.m.
Thunder performances wrap up Saturday afternoon. Field events wrap
up in the morning. Trisha King, Kara Eck, Tyler Bourdo and men's 4
x 400 relay team will look to further solidify potential qualifying
performances for the National Championships.
Men's Basketball: Kalamazoo at Trine, 1 p.m.
The Thunder wrap up the week with a home game against the Hornets.
Trine earned a 22-point win at Kalamazoo earlier this season.
