ANGOLA, IND.-- Take a look at the upcoming schedule and a brief preview of the week ahead in Trine Thunder Athletics.
Tuesday
Men's Basketball: No. 14 Ohio Wesleyan at Trine, 7
p.m.
The Thunder face a stiff test as the 14th-ranked Battling Bishops
come to Hershey Hall. Ohio Wesleyan enters the game undefeated at
7-0, with four players averaging double-figures in scoring. Trine
has rebounded from a slow start to win four-straight, all by
double-digits. Will Dixon and Tyler Good are ranked second and
third in the MIAA in scoring.
Wednesday
Women's Basketball: Heidelberg at Trine, 7 p.m.
Five-straight wins by an average of 24 points have the Thunder
rolling entering Wednesday night's matchup. The Student Princes
will enter with a 1-4 record. Trine's Kelsey Henselmeier ranks
among the nation's leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio, while
Whitney Shaffer ranks among the nation's leaders in three-pointers
per game.
Friday
Track and Field: Trine at University of Indianapolis Friday
Night Special, 5 p.m.
The Trine women set four school-records in the season-opening
Trine Conditioner, while the men's team notched one school-record.
Numerous personal-bests were set by performers on both teams. The
Thunder will be looking to improve on those efforts in their last
meet before the holiday break.
Saturday
Wrestling: Trine at Midwest Classic, 10 a.m.
The Thunder will compete against numerous performers from
Division-II schools in their final meet before the holiday break.
Trine most-recently had three performers place in the ONU
Invitational. Heavyweight Mack Green placed third. Michael Conner
finished fifth in the 197-lb class, while Collin Haag placed
seventh at 141-lbs.
Women's Basketball: Trine at Calvin, 3 p.m.
The Knights will provide perhaps the toughest test for the Thunder
since their season-opener against Ohio Northern. Calvin is ranked
19th in the nation and is a perennial contender in the MIAA. Trine
will be putting a 2-0 start in conference play on the line in
Saturday's matchup.
Men's Basketball: Trine at North Park, 5 p.m.
A trip to Chicago rounds out the week for the Thunder, as they
will face a solid 4-1 Vikings team. Trine defeated North Park at
home in last season's meeting.
Sunday
Wrestling: Trine at Midwest Classic, 10 a.m. (if
necessary)
Any Thunder wrestler that advances to the second day will wrap up
competition at the University of Indianapolis.
