ACHA D2 Hockey Defeats Ferris State

ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine ACHA D2 men's hockey team defeated Ferris State University by the score of 13-2.

With the win, the Thunder remain perfect on the season with a 4-0 record.

The Thunder once again started the scoring early when forward Sean Schirripa found the net in the fourth minute of the game. Forward Braeden Pearl and defender Hunter Lagrone tallied assists on the goal.

But unlike any of Trine's first three games of the season, the Bulldogs responded with a goal of their own just 30 seconds later. Forward Nathan Rieman was credited with the goal for Ferris State and Matthew Medonis was given the assist.

Three more goals were scored in the period, one by the Bulldogs and two by the Thunder giving them a 3-2 lead heading into the first intermission. Following the intermission, however, Trine responded with 10 straight goals to finish the night with the win.

Forward Luka Znidarsic led the Thunder in goals with three, but forward Nick Anderson would edge him in points with five, one goal and four assists.

Tyler Hough got the start in net and Adam Conkling relieved him halfway through the second.

The Thunder will face off with Ferris State again tomorrow, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
