ACHA D2 Finish Weekend Sweep of Ferris State

ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine ACHA D2 defeated Ferris State University by the score of 9-1.

Despite the lopsided score in favor of the Thunder, the first goal of the game came from the Bulldogs when forward Nathan Rieman took a pass from Matthew Medonis and put it in the back of the net. The goal, which caused Trine to trail for the first time this season, would be the lone goal of the contest for Ferris State.

The Thunder's first goal was scored in the 17th minute of the game by Joe Laskero with an assist by Chris Timm.

Two skaters for Trine tallied two goals on the night, both did it back to back in the score sheet. Defender Brandon Bornkamp tallied his goals at the end of the second period and the beginning of the third. Forward Michael Rand's goals came in the third.

Forward Brendan Werstine led the Thunder with three points on the night, he tallied two assists and one goal on the night.

The Thunder next compete when they travel to Cleveland State University on Friday, Oct. 6 with the puck drop scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
