Acro & Tumbling to Open Season with Baylor University in MTI Center

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University acrobatics and tumbling team will begin their season tomorrow, Saturday, February 11 with a match against Baylor University, the pinnacle of the sport.

The match will take place in the MTI Center at 1 p.m. on Saturday, a departure from the team's normal competition home in Hershey Hall.

The Bears come to Angola fresh off their seventh consecutive National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championship. Last season they finished 11-0 on their route to that championship and they opened this season with another victory, over West Liberty, on Sunday, February 5. They enter the contest on a 17-match win streak.

The Thunder return to the mats for their third season after taking a major step forward in 2022. Last season the team tripled their win total form their first campaign finishing 3-6 overall. They ended the season with at the NCATA Division III Invitation where they won the third-place match. The team shattered their program scoring records, including a team score best of 242.175 which was ten-point improvement over their previous best.
