WINTER HAVEN, FLA.-- Solid pitching performances and timely hitting led Trine's baseball team to 3-2 and 2-0 victories over Milwaukee School of Engineering Tuesday afternoon at Chain of Lakes Park.
Brandon Mylcraine (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) and Andy Farrell (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/St. Vincent St. Mary) each picked up their first collegiate wins on the mound. The duo allowed just two earned runs in 12 innings of work. Jake Weimer (Pittsboro, Ind./Brownsburg) picked up his first-career save for the Thunder. At the plate, Ethan Prebynski (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) notched three hits and an RBI, and scored two runs. Shortstop Tyler Magyar had two hits and drove in a run to lead the Raiders. Trine improves to 2-3 on the season, while Milwaukee School of Engineering fell to 1-3 overall.

Trine pushed across three runs in the first two innings and the pitching did the rest as the Thunder notched their first win of the season.
Prebynski drew a leadoff walk and stole second to put the Thunder in business in the bottom of the first. He would come around to score on an error. Kory Shackle (Butler, Ohio/Mount Vernon) reached on the error, stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball. Shackle came in to score on Jordan Baer's (Fort Wayne, Ind./Leo) sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
Zach Thorn (Portage, Ind./Portage) led off the second with a single, stole second and advanced to third on a groundount. Kyle Auernhamer (Vassar, Mich./Vassar) lofted a sacrifice fly to right to score Thorn and make the score 3-0 in favor of Trine.
Magyar's RBI-double in the top of the fourth got the Raiders on the board. MSOE added another run on a fielder's choice in the fifth.
Weimer shut the door from there with two shutout innings to earn his first collegiate save. He relieved Mylcraine, who allowed two earned runs on six innings in his five innings of work for his first win at Trine.
Drew Burgess (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) and Adam Sullivan (Fort Wayne, Ind./Elmhurst) each notched two hits for the Thunder. Trine stole four bases in the game.
Game Two: Trine 2, Milwaukee School of Engineering 0
Farrell went the distance to earn the shutout in his first career start. The freshman lefty scattered five hits and struck out five. He has not allowed an earned run in eight innings of work this season.
Prebynski once again set the table for Trine's first run with a leadoff single to start the top of the first. Prebynski went first-to-third on a single by Andrew DeGood (Hamilton, Mich./Hamilton) and scored on an RBI-groundout by Shackle to get the Thunder on the board.
A two out rally in the fourth led to Prebynski driving home Jeff Phillips (Prospect, Ohio/Marion Pleasant) for the final 2-0 margin.
Prebynski, DeGood and Phillips each had two hits in the game. Luke Porter (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) added his first-career hit for the Thunder.
David Miklosi picked up two hits for the Raiders.
Trine will get a day off before returning to action Thursday when they take on Rose-Hulman at 2:30 p.m.
