ROYAL OAK, MICH.-- Trine's Jordan Baer has been named the First-Team All-MIAA Baseball team, the conference announced as part of the league's all-conference release Wednesday.
Baer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Leo) had a solid campaign while handling first base duties for the Thunder this season. The junior led all Trine regulars with a .321 batting average, .449 on-base percentage and .514 slugging percentage. His on-base and slugging marks ranked seventh and eighth in the league respectively. Baer's .474 OBP in conference games ranked fourth in the MIAA. The first baseman hit two home runs, both in conference play, and knocked in 22 runs for the Thunder this season.
Baer consistently displayed extra-base power throughout the season, with 15 of his 35 hits going for extra bases. In addition to his two homers, Baer doubled 11 times and tripled twice. He also stole four bases.
A strong series against conference-foe Olivet earned Baer MIAA Player of the Week honors for games played through Apr. 14. Baer hit .545 (6-for-11), homered and drove in seven RBI's to lead the Thunder to the split of that series against the Comets.
