Auernhamer To Play in All-Star Game

FORT WAYNE, IND.-- Trine's Kyle Auernhamer has been selected to play in the Indiana Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game, the league announced Tuesday.

Auernhamer (Vassar, Mich./Vassar) is one of three catchers named to the All-Star team. The rising senior has been playing for the Northeast Kekiongas this summer. The team plays their home games at Indiana Tech. The All-Star honorees will take on an all-star squad organized from the Fort Wayne 18-and-older adult league at Indiana Tech University's Warrior Baseball Field this Sunday, July 6. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m.

The ICBL's roster features individuals from across its four-team membership. The Summit City Sluggers top the list with eight awardees, with seven coming from the Northeast Kekiongas, four from the Fort Wayne Panthers and three from the Twin City Bankers. The All-Star roster includes members from NCAA Division I and III, as well as NAIA institutions.

Auernhamer handled the bulk of Trine's catching duties this past season, appearing in 33 games and earning 27 starts behind the plate. He batted .234 with a .324 on-base percentage, one home run and six RBI's.

Trine concluded the season 14-26 overall and finished seventh in the MIAA with a 9-19 conference mark.
