Trine Baseball Schedule Released

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University baseball team has unveiled their schedule for the 2024 season.

The Thunder begin the year with a three-game set at Anderson University on February 24-25. From there, the team begins their spring break trip to compete in the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Florida. Trine will face Penn State University-Altoona, North Central University and Waynesburg University in doubleheaders as well as Saint Vincent College and Dominican University in single games.

A three-game series at Franklin College on March 16-17 is the final test before Trine will take the field at home for the first time this season. The Thunder will host Wright State University-Lake for a doubleheader on March 23 at Jannen Field for the team's 2024 home opener. The following day, Trine will make the trip to Celina, Ohio to face Wright State-Lake for two more contests. The final non-conference game on the schedule is a road matchup with Ohio Northern University on March 26.

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) slate begins with Hope College on March 29-30. The Thunder were able to sneak out a win against the Flying Dutch last season on Senior Day. The first of a three-game mid-week series with Adrian College takes place at home on April 2.

Albion College is next on the schedule for three games on April 5-6. Trine hits the road against the rival Bulldogs on April 10. April 12-13 marks the first conference doubleheader date at home when the team plays Calvin University. The final regular season affair with Adrian takes place at home on April 16.

A tough stretch of games comes versus Kalamazoo College (April 19-20) and Alma College (April 26-27), each of them three-game series. The Hornets were the regular season champions in 2023 and the Scots were second in the league standings. Both were voted near the top of the preseason poll yet again.

The final series of the regular season comes against The University of Olivet on May 3-5. The Thunder will host the Comets on the final day of the year for Senior Day at Jannen Field.
