Since coming to Trine, his teams have won 330 games and appeared in the MIAA Tournament four times. The 2012 squad finished in a tie for second in the conference, the highest conference finish for the Thunder since joining Division III prior to the 2005 season. The 2013 team built on the momentum from that season, winning a school-record 25 games and coming within a game of making the NCAA Tournament.

In the Division III era, Coach Perschke's teams have produced 35 all-conference selections, included among those are 14 first-team honorees.

Perschke primarily works with the pitchers and catchers, and handles all recruiting. He spent most of his professional baseball career with the Chicago White Sox organization.

Perschke was drafted three straight years before signing with the White Sox after being taken in the 24th round out of the University of New Orleans in 1989. Perschke played eight total seasons in the minors, including five seasons at AAA spending time with the Cubs, Dodgers, Indians and White Sox. He received a bachelor’s degree in communications from UNO in 1998.

Perschke resides in Angola with his wife, Trisha and their daughter, Brookston and son Brock.
