ACHA D2 Roll Past Indiana

ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine men's ACHA D2 hockey team steamed past Indiana University this afternoon in a 14-6 victory to complete the weekend sweep.

Both teams' offenses were clicking on all cylinders in the second matchup of the two teams this weekend. The Thunder's sophomore forward Michael Rand (Langley, British Columbia) would start the afternoon's scoring in the fourth minute of the game. The Hoosiers would respond just over a minute later and then Trine would score the next four goals. The Thunder would take a 5-2 lead into the first intermission.

In the second period the Thunder would score four goals, but Indiana would nearly keep pace scoring three of their own. In the final period Trine would put the game away scoring five goals to only one from the Hoosiers, for the final score of 14-6.

Four Trine skaters would finish the game with two goals. Joining Rand were freshman Brandon Bornkamp (Fort Wayne, Ind.), sophomore Nick Anderson (Sacramento, Calif.) and junior Braeden Pearl (Orignal, Ontario). But

Anderson in particular would stand out offensively, adding three assists to his goals to end the contest with a team high five points.

The Thunder next take the ice on Friday, Dec. 1 when they travel to face-off with Oakland University in 7:45 p.m. contest.
