ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine University ACHA D2 men's hockey team placed two players on the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) All-Central Region First-Team.
Two freshman standouts got the nod for the Thunder. Adam Schaffer (Defiance, Ohio) made the team as a defenseman while Brandon Bornkamp (Fort Wayne, Ind.) joined him as a forward.
Schaffer was a top defender for the Thunder helping the team put up a stout defensive effort during the season. He added a significant contribution on the offensive end, notching the third highest assist total on the team with 21 during the season.
Bornkamp, on the other hand, was an offensive juggernaut for the team's inaugural season. He led Trine in all offensive categories, tallying 59 points on 28 goals and 31 assists.
