Thunder Respond to Split Weekend With Purdue

ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine ACHA D3 men's hockey team defeated Purdue University by the score of 4-1.

The win comes after having dropped their first game against the Boilermakers 4-2.

The Thunder came out strong, scoring in just the third minute of the game. Forward Jacob Yehle scored the goal unassisted.

Three other skaters would score for Trine University during the contest besides Yehle. Defender Ryan Dumond would tally a goal in the first period. Forwards Jacob Ruelle and Trenton Mulnix would both find the back of the net in the third period.

Ruelle would lead the Thunder in the game with two points, adding an assist to his lone goal.

Trine next takes the ice Friday, Oct. 6 in the first of two home contests against the University of Michigan - Flint. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
