MINNEAPOLIS - For the second time this season, a Trine University football player has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Senior defensive end Louis Danesi (Santa Fe, Texas/Santa Fe) earned the honor for the first time in his career for games through Sept. 28.
Danesi recorded five tackles, four of them solo in Trine's 24-21 loss to Division II St. Joseph's (Ind.). Three of them were tackles for loss and two were quarterback sacks. Danesi now has 15.5 career sacks, just 0.5 away from tying the school record set by former player Brian Balka.
