ANGOLA, Ind. In a defensive struggle from beginning to end, the Trine University Thunder fall to the Adrian Bulldogs 14-9.  The Thunder (3-4, 0-3 MIAA), and the Adrian Bulldogs improve to 6-1, 3-0 MIAA.

Richard Gunn (Ashley, Ind., Penn.) was a power horse racking up 107 yards off of 33 carries rushing for Trine.  Andrew Dee (McComb, Ohio/McComb) racked up 201 yards passing off of 15 of 35 completions and no interceptions.  Jared Barton (Middleton, Mich./Fulton) led the Thunder receiving with 72 yards off of 4 catches and a touchdown.  He had help from Zach Hess (Eagle, Mich./Grand Ledge)  who had 45 yards receiving off of 5 catches. 

At halftime, the Thunder held the only points on the scoreboard.  From a Tyler Keck (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) 45 yard field goal with 5:14 left in the second quarter the Thunder led 3-0 at the half.

In the third quarter the Adrian Bulldogs got their 2nd blocked punt of the game by Tommy First which led to Aaron Tenney's 5 yard touchdown pass to Josh Delaney, which put the Bulldogs up 7-3. 

The Thunder continued to struggle moving the ball across the field.  The Bulldogs then scored again from a 15 yard rushing touchdown from Robinson putting the Bulldogs up 14-3.

In the fourth quarter Trine tried to rally for the comeback but fell short.  They only scored one touchdown off of a 4 yard touchdown pass from Dee to Barton putting the ending score 14-9. 

Derek Posey (Newark, Ohio/Utica) ended the game with 10 tackles, and half of a sack.  Louis Danesi (Santa Fe, Texas/Santa Fe) and Jim West (Berne, Ind./South Adams) each racked up 9 tackles a piece, Danesi had a solo sack as well.
