Thunder Football Players to Compete in Senior Bowl

Thunder Football Players to Compete in Senior Bowl

SALEM, Va. -- Three Trine University football players will compete in the D-III Senior Classic, which will be held Friday night at Salem Stadium.

Kicker Tyler Keck (Elkhart, Ind.) and offensive linemen Taylor Sprague (Lowell, Mich.) and Andrew Webster (Fort Wayne, Ind.) will suit up for the North squad. The D-III Senior Classic brings together some of Division III's best to Salem, Va. every year to compete in a North vs. South format all-star game. Over the past three seasons, the game has boasted rosters that are comprised of 82 percent of Division III All-Americans. The game seeks to provide a showcase for the nation's top Division III seniors to perform in front of NFL scouts and compete in the North vs. South format All-Star game. This season's DIII Senior Classic will kick off Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Keck concluded his Trine career as one of the best kickers to ever suit up for the Thunder. The Elkhart Memorial graduate owns the best PAT kick percentage (96.8 percent) in school-history and connected on 27-of-40 field goal attempts. This past season, the senior hit 16-of-24 field goal attempts, with a long of 45 yards. Keck was a three-time MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week this past season and was a two-time All-MIAA performer.

Webster (North Side High School) and Sprague (Lowell High School) anchored the left side of a Trine offensive line that produced 176 rushing yards per contest and allowed just 11 sacks.  Each player earned All-MIAA honors twice in their Thunder careers. Sprague earned First-Team honors in 2013, while Webster was a second-team honoree. Each player started every game the past two seasons on the Thunder OL, with Webster holding down the left guard position and Sprague starting at left tackle.

Going into its fifth year, the D-III Senior Classic serves as the premier scouting opportunity for all of D-III football. The D-III Senior Classic is traditionally played in Salem Stadium in Salem, Va. on the second or third Friday of December, always the week before the Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

The D-III Senior Classic will be live-streamed on D3Football.com. The video broadcast does cost $4.95 to watch but the radio broadcast is free to listen and download after the game. Click on the link below to watch and listen to the game:
