FREELAND, MICH.-- Trine's Taylor Masiewicz has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for week two, the conference announced Monday.

Masiewicz (Belmont, Mich./Rockford) accounted for 365 yards of total offense and had a hand in all four Thunder touchdowns in Saturday's 28-14 victory over Millikin. The junior completed 31-of-41 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns, and added 48 yards and a score on 14 carries. His 31 completions were the second-most in Trine football history, and the highest-total since the Thunder joined NCAA Division III in 2004. Masiewicz is being honored as the Player of the Week for the first-time in his Trine career.

The dual-threat quarterback has given the Thunder a dynamic weapon at the helm of the offense. Masiewicz has had a hand in seven of the team's eight touchdowns this season, with three of those coming through the air and four on the ground. He has completed 50-of-74 passes (67 percent) for 529 yards and three scores. Masiewicz has not been intercepted this season.

On the ground, Masiewicz has carried the ball 33 times for 57 yards and an MIAA-leading four scores. His three rushing TD's in the season-opener at Manchester tied Eric Watt's school-record for most rushing touchdowns in a game by a quarterback.

Trine has opened the season 1-1, and will travel to Rockford this Saturday for a non-conference matchup with the Regents. Rockford enters the matchup 1-1. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST.
