Wolf Named Academic All-American

AUSTIN, TEXAS-- Trine's Aaron Wolf has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America ® Division III Football Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wolf (Huntington, Ind./Huntington North) is one of three members of the Academic All-America® teams that sports a perfect 4.0 G.P.A. An Accounting major, Wolf has been a member of the MIAA Honor Roll three times and is working towards earning that distinction a fourth time. The senior is the first Trine football Academic All-American® since the school joined NCAA Division III in 2004. The Capital One Academic All-America® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. All First-Team Academic All-District® members advanced to the national ballot.

On the field, Wolf put together a solid season as part of the Trine defensive line. The senior finished seventh in the MIAA with 6.5 sacks, a mark that ranks seventh in a single-season in team history. Wolf recorded 55 tackles, including 8.5 for loss. He also forced a fumble, picked up a fumble recovery, notched a pass break up, and blocked an extra-point.

Wolf concluded his career ranked fourth in Trine history with 15 career sacks. He is also tied for ninth in team history with 24.5 career tackles-for-loss. Wolf recorded 161 tackles and forced three fumbles in his four-year career at Trine.

The 25 members of the Capital One Academic All-America ® Division III football first team maintain an average G.P.A of 3.88.

The Thunder concluded the season 6-4 overall, and finished second in the MIAA with a 4-2 conference mark.

The Capital One Division III Academic All-America ® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 Division III Academic All-America ® teams program.
