Hogan Named to D3Football.com All-Region Team

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.-- Trine's Ryan Hogan has been named to the D3Football.com All-North Region Third-Team, announced Monday.

Hogan (Vine Grove, Ky./Meade County) set Trine's single-season record with 11 sacks and became the school's all-time leader with career sacks. The senior was previously named to the First-Team All-MIAA defense. The All-North Region teams, selected in balloting by North Region sports information directors and D3Football.com staff, were chosen from 228 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 79 players were chosen. The North Region includes schools from six conferences and six states.

Hogan's 11 sacks tied for the MIAA lead and tied for ninth in the nation in regular-season games. He also finished tied for 24th in the nation in regular-season games with 18.5 tackles-for-loss. The defensive end notched 65 tackles (26 solo) and recovered three fumbles this season.

In addition to topping the Trine record books in career sacks, Hogan concluded his career tied for fifth in school-history with 31 TFL. He notched 119 tackles, forced four fumbles and recovered three fumbles in his Thunder career.

The National Bowl rewarded Hogan for his solid play this season with an invite to perform in front of pro scouts in a game featuring some of the top small-school players in the nation. Hogan played in front of scouts representing 11 NFL, 11 Arena, and five CFL teams.

Trine concluded the season 6-4 overall, and tied for second in the MIAA with a 4-2 conference mark. The Thunder produced nine All-MIAA performers and one Academic All-American.
