Thunder Football Releases 2015 Schedule

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine football team has released its 2015 regular-season schedule, the team announced Thursday.

The 2015 season kicks off on a Thursday night under the lights of Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium, when the Thunder play the traditional season-opener against Manchester on September 3rd. The two teams have kicked off the season against each other every year since 2006. The season-opener is one of five times Trine will have the opportunity to play in front of the home fans next season. The Thunder finished last season with a 6-4 overall record and tied for 2nd in the MIAA with a 4-2 league mark.

The non-conference slate also sees the Thunder travel to North Central September 12 as part of a scheduling agreement between the MIAA and CCIW. The Cardinals finished last season 8-2, missing the playoffs for the first-time since 2009. Trine will also host Wisconsin Lutheran (Sept. 19) and travel to Lakeland (Oct. 17). Both teams are coming off winning seasons.

The Thunder will host Olivet, Kalamazoo and Hope in MIAA play. The game against the Comets, set for October 10, will serve as Trine's Homecoming game. The two teams played one of the most thrilling games of the MIAA season last year, as the Thunder overcame an 18-point second half deficit to earn the victory.

MIAA road trips include dates at Alma, Albion and Adrian. The game against the Scots on October 3 opens the conference slate for the Thunder.
