ANGOLA, Ind. -- Students interested in traveling to the season-opening football game will have the option of taking a fan bus to Manchester next Thursday, Sep. 1.
The bus is open to the first 54 students to register. Students can sign-up to ride the bus by visiting the Office of Student Services. Registration opens this Thursday. There is no cost to ride the bus.
Students will receive free pizza on the bus trip. All students are encouraged to wear white in support of the Thunder football team.
The bus departs at 5:30 p.m., with kickoff between Trine and Manchester scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Thunder football team was ranked No. 24 in the nation by Lindy's Sports in the publication's preseason Top 25 poll. Trine received two first-place votes in the MIAA Preseason Poll and were picked to finish fourth in the conference by the league's coaches.
The Spartans and Thunder have met in the traditional, in-state rivalry game on opening night every year since 2006. Trine won last season's opener 38-14.
