Barnett Named Finalist for HERO Sports Award

ANGOLA, Ind. -- Trine's Jeffery Barnett has been named a finalist for HERO Sports "HERO of the Week" award, the organization announced today.

Barnett (Fremont, Ohio / Fremont-Ross) tied a school-record with 244 receiving yards in Saturday's 41-33 loss to Alma. The sophomore hauled in 10 passes on his way to matching the 10-year old program record held by Ben Darnell. Barnett scored one touchdown and added 62 kickoff return yards. This is the first time Barnett has been named a finalist for HERO Sports' "HERO" of the Week honor.

HERO Sports "HERO of the Week" recognizes the top single-game performances of the week in Division III football. The winner of the award is determined by fan vote from among five offensive and five defensive candidates.
