Scott Competes in Tazón De Estrellas

MEXICALI, Mexico -- Trine's Derek Scott traveled to Mexico to compete for Team Stars and Stripes in the eighth annual Tazón De Estrellas this past week.

Scott (Niles, Mich. / Niles) was one of 54 college seniors representing 22 NCAA Division III institutions to compete for Team Stars and Stripes. The annual event gives student-athletes from the U.S. an opportunity to travel internationally and enjoy a cultural exchange, then to compete against their Mexican counterparts on the football field. The CONADEIP All-Stars representing Mexico defeated Team Stars and Stripes, 51-26.

Prior to the game, Scott spent a week of practice implementing the game plan at CETYS University. He was part of a community service project with local youth. Scott and his teammates also traveled to San Felipe Beach in Baja.
