Wyse Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Wyse Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

ANGOLA, IND.  --  For the second time this season, Trine University senior quarterback Evan Wyse (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Football "Offensive Player of the Week."

Wyse played a pivotal role in helping the Thunder to a 55-34 win against Adrian (Mich.) College this past weekend and improve to a perfect 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the MIAA.  Wyse had a career day through the air, completing nine-of-14 passes for a career-best 271 yards to go along with three touchdown passes.

He also carried the ball 17 times for 150 yards and found the endzone once.  Saturday's game was the fourth time this season that Wyse has rushed for 100 yards or more.

Overall, Wyse totaled 421 (150 rushing and 271 passing) of the team's 690 total yards and was responsible for, or contributed to, four of the team's eight touchdowns scored against the Bulldogs.

For the season, Wyse is the team's second-leading rusher with 698 yards on 85 touches (8.2 yards per carry) with eight rushing TD.  He has completed 56-of-94 passes for 1,187 yards with 16 TD and had only two interceptions.

Wyse and the Thunder will look to stay unbeaten when they travel to Alma, Mich. for a MIAA matchup against Alma College on Saturday, Nov. 4.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
