Trine Football Cracks Top-25 National Poll

ANGOLA, IND.  -- The Trine University football team has moved into the national rankings as one of the top-25 programs in the country in the lastest poll released by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

The Thunder are ranked in the top-25 for the first time this season and the first time since the start of the 2016 season when Trine was ranked 25th in Lindy's Preseason Poll.

Trine is off to its best start since 2010 when the Thunder went undefeated during the regular season (10-0) and advanced to the second round before suffering their only loss to top-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to end the year with an 11-1 overall mark.

Trine also went undefeated during the regular season back in 2008 (10-0) before falling to Wheaton (Ill.) College in the first round of the NCAA postseason.

The Thunder will look to stay unbeaten when they travel to Alma, Mich. on Saturday, Nov. 4 to take on Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association matchup.  The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
