Good Named MIAA Player of the Week

ROYAL OAK, MICH.-- Trine forward Tyler Good has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Good (Swanton, Ohio/Evergreen) averaged 18.5 points, seven rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading the Thunder to non-conference victories over Mount Vernon Nazarene and Ohio Northern last week. The junior filled the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the 57-47 victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene. He followed that with a career-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds in a 73-68 victory at ONU. He played all 40 minutes in that game. Good is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career. He is the second Thunder player to be honored as Player of the Week, joining Jared Holmquist (Reed City, Mich./Reed City) who won the award Dec. 16.

Good shot 48 percent from the field (13-of-27) and connected on 9-of-10 free throw attempts (90 percent) on the week. This season Good ranks second on the Thunder squad in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per contest. He adds 5.1 rebounds and a team-best 2.9 assists per game. Good is shooting 57 percent from three-point range (8-of-14).

Trine enters MIAA play with a 7-4 record. The Thunder will open conference play this Wednesday, Jan. 8 when they travel to Hope. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
