ROYAL OAK, MICH.— Trine's Tyler Good has been named to the 2014 All-MIAA Men's Basketball Team, which was released by the league Tuesday.

Good (Swanton, Ohio/Evergreen) earned First Team honors following a season in which he led the conference in minutes played (34.9 per game).  The junior led the Thunder in scoring, pouring in 15.2 points per contest on 43 percent shooting. His average of 15.9 points per game in conference play ranked fourth in the MIAA. Good also led the team in assists, dishing out 2.8 per contest- the sixth-best mark in the conference. He finished third in the league with a 2.23 assist-to-turnover ratio. Good's work passing and taking care of the basketball was instrumental in helping Trine finish second in the nation in fewest turnovers per game.

Highlighting Good's efforts this season was a 31-point effort in a 74-56 victory over Alma. Good scored in double-figures in all but three of Trine's 26 games this season. He was named MIAA Player of the Week on Jan. 6 after averaging 18.5 points, seven rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading the Thunder to wins at Ohio Northern and Mount Vernon Nazarene.

Getting to the free throw line was a big part of Good's offensive success this season. Good shot 81 percent from the line (sixth in the MIAA) and averaged just over five free throw attempts per game. He also scored efficiently from beyond the arc, hitting 41 percent of his attempts from long range.

Trine finished the season 15-11 overall and 8-6 in the MIAA. The Thunder finished tied with Albion for third-place in the conference. Trine has finished third in the league each of the past three seasons.

Calvin center Tyler Kruis, who led the Knights to the MIAA tournament title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, was named the conference's Most Valuable Player. He finished third in the MIAA in scoring at 16.5 points per game in league play and also ranked third in field goal percentage at 59 percent.
