JACKSON EARNS TWO MORE ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

ANGOLA, Ind. - Trine University men’s basketball player Ian Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) has garnered two more All-American honors this week, bringing his total All-American awards to three for the 2013 postseason.

Earlier in the week, the senior guard was named to the 2013 DIII News All-American Fourth Team after averaging 21.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game on the year. Jackson was one of only 25 players selected to one of the five DIII News All-American teams and the only player from the MIAA.

Then, on Thursday March 28, it was announced that Jackson was named to the 2013D3hoops.com All-American Honorable Mention team. Jackson was one of just two players named a D3hoops.com All-American that were also selected to the All-Region Great Lakes team. Jackson was again the only MIAA representative among the five teams announced. A full list of the honorees can be found here.

Jackson, the schools fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,781 career points, ends his four years at Trine as one of the most decorate players in school history. Earlier this year Jackson garnering All-American honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and was selected to play in the NABC 2013 Reese’sDivision III College All-Star game. Jackson was also named to the NABC Great Lakes All-District First team and the D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region First Team.

In addition to the regional and national honors, Jackson became the first Thunder player to earn MIAA MVP honors since Trine joined the conference in 2004. He was also selected to the All-MIAA First Team for the third straight year.
