Good Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, MO.-- Trine's Tyler Good has been recognized for his excellence on the basketball court and in the classroom, as he was named to the NABC Honors Court Monday morning.

Good (Swanton, Ohio/Evergreen) is the first student-athlete on record to be named to the NABC Honors Court in Trine history. Good was one of a record 895 student-athletes from 335 colleges and universities to earn NABC Honors Court distinction. To be recognized as a member of the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, have matriculated a minimum of one full academic year at their current institution, and be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach. The purpose of the NABC Honors Court is to recognize the talents and gifts of these men on and off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

Good was a First-Team All-MIAA selection after averaging a team-best 15.2 points per game on 43 percent shooting from the field. The rising senior was third in the MIAA with a 2.23 assist-to-turnover ratio, and dished out a team-best 2.8 assists per contest. Good's passing and ability to take care of the basketball was instrumental in helping the Thunder finish second in the nation in fewest turnovers per game.

Good was named MIAA Player of the Week on Jan. 6 after averaging 18.5 points, seven rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading the Thunder to wins at Ohio Northern and Mount Vernon Nazarene. In the classroom, Good is working towards a Sports Management degree.

Trine finished the season 15-11 overall and 8-6 in the MIAA. The Thunder finished tied with Albion for third-place in the conference. Trine has finished third in the league each of the past three seasons.
