Men's Basketball Announces 2015-16 Schedule

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine men's basketball team has announced its schedule for the 2015-16 regular season.

Highlighting the schedule are 13 home games, including the season-opener against Heideleberg. The season tips-off Nov. 16 inside Hershey Hall. The Thunder will also host the inaugural St. Andrews Products Classic Dec. 19-20, which will bring three visiting teams to Angola. Trine will face Millikin and Wisconsin-Oshkosh as part of the classic. Fellow MIAA-memeber Adrian is the fourth team in the tournament. The non-conference home slate also includes games against North Park, Great Lakes Christian and Manchester.

Headlining the non-conference road schedule is a trip to face NCAA Tournament participant Ohio Wesleyan. The Thunder earned a thrilling 87-82 victory over the then no.6-ranked Battling Bishops in Hershey Hall last season. Trine will also face Anderson (Ind.) and Ohio Northern on the road.

The Thunder will also travel to Pittsburgh to play in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational (Nov. 28-29). Trine will face Chatham, a first-year program, in the opening game of the tournament. Game two will pit the Thunder against either the host Tartans or Elmira.

The conference slate once again includes home and away matchups with every MIAA foe. Four of Trine's home league games will come on Saturdays, including the matchup with reigning-MIAA champion Calvin (Jan. 30).

Trine earned its best season as a member of NCAA Division III last season, finishing 17-9 overall and second in the MIAA with a 10-4 conference mark. The effort in league play earned the Thunder its first-ever home game in the MIAA Tournament.

The team produced three All-MIAA performers, including returning first-team members Jared Holmquist (Reed City, Mich./Reed City) and Will Dixon (Indianapolis, Ind./Zionsville). Trine finished among the nation's leaders in fewest turnovers per game, turnover margin and free throw percentage last season.

The complete schedule is listed below. Please note that tip-off times for several games have yet to be finalized and will be announced at a later date. The schedule can also be viewed HERE.
