ANGOLA, Ind.-- Trine's Will Dixon has been named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.
Dixon (Indianapolis, Ind./Zionsville) earned the recognition after averaging 20.7 points per game in leading the Thunder to a 2-1 record last week. The junior earned MIAA Player of the Week honors and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Carnegie Mellon DoubleTree Invitational. Dixon averaged 26 points on a 55 percent shooting effort from the floor in the tournament, leading Trine to wins over Chatham and Carnegie Mellon to with the tournament title.
Dixon's 31-point effort in the victory over Chatham was his fifth-career effort of 30-plus points. He finished 12-of-16 from the floor in that game, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. Overall, the guard shot 55 percent from long distance on the week. He followed that performance with a 21-point effort in a victory over previously-unbeaten Carnegie Mellon.
The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3Hoops.com's weekly honor roll. In its 18th season, the award recognizes the top performances at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Trine is off to a 4-1 start this season, with the team's lone loss coming at no. 13 Ohio Wesleyan. The Thunder return to action next Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Anderson. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
