Trine to Host Sectional Semifinals and Final Rounds in NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Trine University and the men's basketball program will serve as hosts in the Sectional Semifinal and Final Rounds of the 2023-24 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.

Trine will take on Washington University (WashU) out of St. Louis, Missouri in their Sectional Semifinal matchup beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8. The Thunder defeated Fontbonne University 91-81 and Coe College 76-70 in the first two rounds of the tournament. The Bears of WashU won a pair of overtime games at home to advance to the second weekend, including victories against Wisconsin Lutheran College 71-68 and Illinois College 68-67. Trine enters the game with a 25-4 mark while WashU is currently 20-7.

In the other Sectional Semifinal game that will be hosted inside the MTI Center, Case Western Reserve University will meet the University of Wisconsin-Platteville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8. Both of these schools served as First and Second round contests as well, with the Spartans of CWRU (23-4) beating Mary Baldwin University 66-51 and Hope College 97-79 and Platteville (25-4) defeating Bethany Lutheran College 89-52 and Loras College 81-67.

Tickets for the Sectional Semifinal and Final Round games played inside the MTI Center can be purchased at the door using cash or card. There will be no preseale tickets. Tickets to Friday's game will allow you to watch both the Case Western Reserve and Wisconsin-Platteville game as well as the Trine versus WashU game.
