LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Trine University men's bowling team made a run out of the loser's bracket to finish inside the top eight nationally last week. The team won two games last Friday to advance deep into the national tournament in their first appearance in program history.
The Thunder faced Saint Xavier University in their second tournament game and defeated the Cougars in a seven-game series, 4-3. They moved on to play Lawrence Tech University in the next round and came away with a 4-1 win.
The team was down three games to one against the University of Tennessee Southern, but battled back to force a game seven against the Firehawks. Tennessee Southern was able to secure the win, but it was a battle to the end in the third matchup of the day for Trine.
