Thunder Men Second at Jamboree #7

WEST OLIVE, Mich. - The Trine University men's golf team inched closer to a spot in the MIAA Spring Championship Qualifier as they placed second with a 305 at the seventh MIAA Jamboree of the season. Trine now sits just two strokes back of Calvin in third with a combined score of 2144 as Hope now leads with a total score of 2122 for the fall. Adrian holds onto the fourth and final spot with a 2175.

Hosts by Hope College at the par-71, 6,903 yard Wuskowhan Players Club, the Flying Dutch took the team honors with a 290. Hope also had the low individual scores by Collin Breit and Ben Lewis with even-par 71's.

Trine was led by senior Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa) who carded a 74, his lowest career round at the course, to finish in a tie for fourth. Sophomore Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) finished one stroke back in a tie for sixth with a 75 for the round. Sitting in a tie for 11th was senior Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) and sophomore Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) with rounds of 78 on the afternoon. Rounding out the scoring for the Thunder in a tie for 16th place with a score of 79 was sophomore Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater).

Trine will conclude their fall season on Oct. 7 with the eighth and final MIAA Jamboree host by Calvin College beginning at 1 p.m.
