PORTAGE, MICH.-- The Trine men's golf team placed fifth in the Steve Tyler Intercollegiate, held Monday at Moors Golf Club.
Thunder golfers notched a score of 326. Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) led the way, shooting a five-over 77 to finish in a tie for third. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) finished just behind, finishing with a score of 80 to tie for 11th. Hope won the 13-team tournament with a score of 315. Collin Breit led the way for the Flying Dutchmen as the individual medalist with a score of 75.

Michael Reynolds (Wolcottville, Ind./Prairie Heights) made an appearance in the top five for the Thunder, finishing with an 84. Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich./Holly) and Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) rounded out the Trine performance, as each golfer carded an 85.
Trine will host "Grunge Day" this Friday, Apr. 25 and the Bill Gettig Invitational this Saturday, Apr. 26 at Fred Zollner Golf Course.
