THUNDER GOLFERS FIFTH AT MIAA JAMBOREE #3

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - At the third MIAA Jamboree of the season, the Trine University men’s golf team placed fifth with a team score of 315. After three events, the Thunder drop a spot back to sit in fourth with a score of 939 as Hope leads the pack with a total score of 926. Calvin and Adrian are now tied for second at 931.

Played at the par-71, 6,980 yard Bedford Valley Golf Course, Hope took the team honors with a score of 301. Calvin’s James Van Noord took the individual medalist honors with an even-par-71.

For the Thunder, sophomore Bryce Moore (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) led the way with a 73 to finish in a tie for second. Senior Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) stood alone in sixth place after shooting a 75 for the day. Sophomore Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) shot an 81 for the round to finish tied for 24th. Sitting in a tie for 40th was senior Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa), carding an 86 on the afternoon. Junior Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) rounded out the team scoring for the Thunder with a round of 87 to finish tied for 42nd.

Sophomore Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich./Holly) played as an individual in the round carding an 84 to finish in 37th place.

The next Jamboree takes place on Sept. 21 and will be hosted by Alma beginning at 10 a.m.
