Thunder Place Second at Own Jamboree

ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine men's golf team hosted their round of the MIAA Jamboree Saturday on Zollner Golf Course, with the Thunder placing second in the latest round of MIAA-play.

Thunder golfers combined for a score of 291. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) finished with an even-par 71 to lead Trine and tie for third overall. The round marked a season-low for the junior. Hope finished first with a score of 288, led by individual medalist Winton Munch with a 69. After five Jamboree rounds, Trine sits in second place in the MIAA standings. They trail the first-place Flying Dutchmen by four strokes.

Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) and Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) tied for seventh as each golfer finished with a 73 (+2). Both golfers equaled their best round of the fall today.

Michael Reynolds (Wolcottville, Ind./Prairie Heights) continued his strong play of late, finishing just behind his teammates with a 74. That score was two-strokes better than his season average.

Three Jamborees remain on the fall schedule. The next round will be played Monday, Sept. 29 at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich. Calvin will host the next Jamboree.
