BATTLE CREEK, MICH.-- The Trine men's golf team won the final MIAA Jamboree of the season Tuesday afternoon at Bedford Valley Golf Course to wrap-up a second-place finish in the MIAA standings.
The Thunder finished with an overall score of 297 (+9) to earn their fourth Jamboree win of the fall. The performance locked up a second-place finish in the conference, as Trine finished five strokes behind league champion Hope. The team's average score of 299.2 per round was the second-best average score for any Thunder team since the school joined the MIAA in 2004. Leading the way in the final round was Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center), who finished with a 73 (+1) to place third overall. Knapp was named First-Team All-MIAA for his performance in MIAA events this fall.

Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) finished second among Trine golfers with a 74, which placed the junior fifth. Bremigan was named Second-Team All-MIAA after the conclusion of the Jamboree.
Grant Klopfenstein (Howell, Mich./Hartland) and Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) each fired 75s to finish tied for sixth. Dwyer earned Second-Team All-MIAA honors to give the Thunder three performers on the All-MIAA teams.
Though he didn't compete in Tuesday's final round, Trine senior Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) was named the recipient of the conference's Sportsmanship Award following the conclusion of the Jamboree.
The second-place finish locked up a Trine berth in the MIAA National Qualifier in the spring. The Thunder will have an opportunity to earn an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships in the four-team, 54-hole tournament.
