FREELAND, MICH.-- The Trine men's golf teams saw four members recognized by the MIAA for their achievements during the fall season, as the conference released their award-recipients Tuesday night.

Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) was presented with the conference's Sportsmanship Award, and three Thunder golfers earned All-MIAA recognition. Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) earned First-Team All-MIAA honors, while Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) and Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) each earned second-team honors. Each golfer played a key role in helping Trine lock up a second-place finish in the MIAA. The Thunder won four MIAA Jamboree events and had four medalists or co-medalists at conference events this season.

Snell becomes the first Trine recipient of the Sportsmanship Award since the Thunder joined the MIAA in 2004. The senior played in seven of the eight Jamboree rounds and posted an average score of 75.6, with a low of 73 in the MIAA Jamboree at Trine.

Knapp earned All-MIAA recognition for the first-time in his Trine career. The junior finished with an average score of 74.7 in conference rounds. Knapp was co-medalist in the MIAA Jamboree at Hope, and a consistent performer on the links for the Thunder this fall. He finished +2 or better in each of the last four Jamborees.

Bremigan also received all-conference honors for the first-time in his Trine career. The junior won medalist honors in the season-opening Jamboree at Alma, and earned co-medalist honors in the Jamboree at Kalamazoo. He is the first Thunder golfer to earn medalist honors in two Jamborees in the same season since 2009.

Rounding out Trine's honorees was Dwyer, another first-time All-MIAA performer. Dwyer was co-medalist in the MIAA Jamboree at Adrian. The sophomore's average of 75.4 in MIAA tournaments was second on the team.

Trine will compete in the MIAA National Qualifier in the spring. A first-place finish in the four-team, 54-hole tournament would give the Thunder an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
