Men's Golf Places Third in SFU Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind.-- The Trine men's golf team placed third in the St. Francis Invitational, held Friday and Saturday.

Thunder golfers carded a score of 616 (+40) over the course of two-round event. Trine golfers improved their collective scores by 18 strokes in round two today. Leading the way for the Thunder was Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), who fired a 147 to finish in a tie for third. Dwyer finished one-under in round two to finish three-over for the tournament. Individual medalist Anthony Slater paced Lindenwood-Belleville to the team title. Slate finished with a 143 (-3) as Lindenwood-Belleville finished with a 603.

Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) finished at +11 to place second among Thunder golfers. He tied for 19th overall. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) and Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) rounded out Trine's top four, as both golfers finished at +13.

Trine will host the Bill Gettig Invitational Thursday, Apr. 9 on the home links of Zollner Golf Course. The event is due to tee off at 1 p.m.
