Thunder Place Fourth in Bill Gettig Invitational

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine men's golf team placed fourth in the Bill Gettig Invitational, held Thursday at Trine University's Zollner Golf Course.

The Thunder's top grouping combined to shoot a 290 to finish six-over par. That group included Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center), Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee), Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) and Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg). Dwyer finished at an even-71 to finish tied for eighth overall. The junior carded a score of even or better on all but one hole. Led by individual medalist Even Telzerow's 67 (-4), Hope won the team title with a score of 282 (-2).

Knapp finished with a one-over 72 to finish in a tie for 10th. His performance included four birdies. Snell carded a 73, while Bremigan finished with a 74. Snell finished even on 14 holes.

Tevlin rounded out Trine performers in the top group with a 76. All five golfers making up that team finished with scores better than their season average.

Trine's top performance elsewhere came from Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central), who carded a new collegiate-best score of 76. The Thunder had four teams competing in the tournament.

Trine will compete in the Steve Tyler Invitational at Moors Golf Club in Portage, Mich. next Monday, April 13. The tournament tees off at 1 p.m.
