ANGOLA, Ind.-- The top group of Trine's men's golfers placed third in the A.C. Eddy Invitational, held Sunday at Zollner Golf Course.
The "A" group of Thunder golfers finished with a score of 401, one-stroke behind Rochester and Siena Heights. Rochester was declared the winner due to having a better score on hole five. Jason Niese (Leipsic, Ohio/Leipsic) carded Trine's best score of the day, finishing with a three-over 74. The round was a season-best for the sophomore, and placed him on the all-tournament team.

Calvin George (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) finished tied for ninth with a 79- also a season-low round. Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich./Fenton), Jordan Davidhizar (Millserburg, Ind./Fairfield) and Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) rounded out Trine's top group.
Trenton Murphy (Columbia City, Ind./Columbia City) shot a 78 as part of a group of Trine JV players. Murphy received recognition on the all-tournament team for the performance.
Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) carded an 81 to lead Trine's "B" group of varsity golfers.
Trine will compete in the Calvin Invitational this Tuesday, April 21 at Pilgrim's Run Golf Club in Pierson, Mich.
