WEST OLIVE, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team won the final round of the MIAA National Qualifier to finish second overall in the tournament, which concluded Saturday at Wuskowhan Players Club.

Thunder golfers combined for a score of 299 (+15) on the final day of the tournament to finish with a three-round total of 886. Trine finished 13-strokes behind Hope for first. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) wrapped up a solid three rounds of play in the National Qualifier, tying for first with a two-over 73 in the final round. The junior finished at plus-three over the two rounds of play. All three of Dwyer's rounds in the Qualifier came in better than his overall season average entering the tournament. Dwyer led all golfers with the lowest score over the final two rounds.

Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) and Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) each finished at four-over with 75s to finish second among Trine golfers and with the fourth-best scores overall. Knapp finished five-over total over the last two rounds. Bremigan finished four-over in each of the final two rounds of play.

Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) finished with a 76 in his final Qualifier round. The senior's score came right in line with his season average. Snell wrapped up his career having competed in the National Qualifier each of the last two years and winning the MIAA Sportsmanship Award in 2014.

Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) rounded out Trine golfers competing the tournament.

The MIAA National Qualifer rounds out the official tournament schedule for the Thunder in the 2014-15 season. Trine placed second in the MIAA in the fall. Knapp earned First-Team All-MIAA honors, while Bremigan and Dwyer were each named to the second team.

The Thunder wrap up the season with their annual Grunge Day event this Friday, May 1.
