ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine men's golf team has released its fall 2015 schedule, the team announced Friday.
All but one tournament on the fall schedule will come in conference play. The Thunder open the season with the two-round Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Marshall, Mich. The course will also be the site of the second MIAA Jamboree round. Trine placed 12th in a non-conference tournament and won the final jamboree round on that course last season.
The MIAA schedule once again includes a single round hosted by each conference school for a total of eight rounds. The team with the best cumulative score following the final round is declared the MIAA champion. The top four teams advance to the MIAA National Qualifier in the spring, where they will compete for an automatic-qualifying bid to the National Championships.
Trine will host the fifth jamboree round Saturday, Sep. 26 on the home links of Zollner Golf Course. The Thunder have finished among the top two teams in their home jamboree each of the last three seasons, including two first-place finishes.
Trine finished second in the MIAA last fall to advance to the spring qualifying tournament. The Thunder fell just short of an NCAA-bid, placing second again in the spring. Trine produced three all-conference performers, all of whom are expected back to form the core of this season's team.
